Mother's Day 2016

What's a Mother's Day without a mother? A celebration of other mothers, people who are mothers to me and the mothers that have left this earth.

It's a nurturing and empowering situation, those who inspire and influence others. A true sense of selflessness, a feeling that a mother embraces.

A protector of her young, a conqueror of disaster, a teacher, a leader, a volunteer, a chef, an artist, a mentor.

It is the wisdom of "mother" that is given to her children and others                  that resonates on this day...

CELEBRATE & ENJOY!  HAPPY MOTHERS DAY 2016!

Think Music!

Music is the universal language and evokes many emotions, feelings, memories. It's magical, mystical, moving! It has the power to console, heal and induce happiness. It conveys passion, rage and love!

Where do we draw our creativity from? The creativity that causes us to do what we do each day. Stop doing to open up to awareness, be in the moment, be present. Use all senses to experience, to explore, to discover what our greatest potential is.

There are sources we are drawn to that inspire us to be our best. Is it music, art, nature, people, places, experiences???
Music...does it cause you to focus or is it a distraction?
Music has rhythm for synchronizing
Cadence for continuity
Tempo for pace
Harmony for progression
Syncopation for the off beat

You don't have to watch it and can listen to it all day
You can watch as you listen at a concert, at a show, on the internet
Its there when you need it, its evocative and engaging producing bouts of singing, dancing, tapping, snapping…
Fluid, insidious genres from the dawn of time to forever resonating in our brains. Many artists using sound to change the world.

My father the original networker…A Father’s Day Message

My Dad was an innovator of his time, he was my first business mentor. It’s awesome how things evolve and we learn from one another.
Joe Bruno was the original networker, in positions (sales/promotions) that required him to contact, communicate and retain a client base. Although Think and Grow Rich was around since the late 30s, I doubt many business people were aware of the writings as we are today. Networking in the 50s was without social media, the internet and every kind of device that assists us in business today. He developed these relationships initiated by his own desire and love for what he did (the way I perceived it as a young adult). I often accompanied him on various appointments/trade shows and observed how to be social and how to meet total strangers and connect. It’s a tough act to follow, but who’s acting…It was not something forced it was a genuine interest in supporting a company. I am not aware of a mission statement or value proposition that was in place, it was the fashion industry…very social and people wanted what he had because of him. SOCIAL…NETWORKING
Joe introduced me to many aspects of the sales world from people to process to promotion, He had fun with it so it did not seem like work. I often thought how great it would be to have such passion for what I  do that it does not seem like work. Here is where the real lesson is and I can proudly say that now I am an independent business owner…Café Realty.
Dad was a real influence on how to think differently.
Here’s to you DAD, Happy Father’s Day THANK YOU and may your light always shine upon all those in your life!
With love, gratitude and appreciation...

Yoga...return to bliss

The practice of yoga is personal, the true connection of mind body and spirit. Returning from a 2 year absence has brought a familiar awareness to the benefits of this ancient art and discipline. It is the softening, the lengthening, the surrendering to your inner peace via breath control, balance and awareness. It centers your thoughts, feelings and emotions and connects them.
It's a personal discipline drawing from your deepest sense of self which transforms the energy of the mind into control of the body. A bliss experienced when ego is forgotten and inner peace is realized.
This return also brought a keen awareness to the flexibility of the body, the asanas (postures), the mudras (hand gestures), the prana (life force/breath) are gathered within a session to awaken the spirit and bring it towards the body and mind. It is no easy feat to hold a posture, control the breath and soften the expression. There are 2 distinct styles of practice focusing on the yang or the yin. Yang being a more male. muscle oriented, energizing, flowing, intense style and yin a female, connective tissue focused, gentle, flowing style. The two are complementary and produce the same bliss dependent on your needs for your practice in any given day.
Balance asanas are my personal favorite, a true grounding to the earth, a letting go of emotions, a mindful expression. A center of gravity is found and the edges are explored...a fluid stability
The beauty of yoga is the opportunity to experience what is necessary for your body/mind/spirit at that moment. There is no competition...egoless exercise. Your practice is yours alone...an island in a sea.

Creating Collaborative Partnerships...A New Day

How to create collaboration within a company while driving revenue to its bottom line…

It is more than a mere statement, more than words. Collaboration is at the heart of the new flat company. It is the engine that powers the creativity, the cohesive force, solidifying the "all in" mentality. In order to drive revenue to a bottom line, we generate top line growth. Growing revenue starts with people and collaboration is the catalyst.

So how do we work together within our own company and incorporate others? Here is the dictionary definition:

col·lab·o·rate/ kəˈlabəˌrāt /verb
verb: collaborate; 3rd person present: collaborates; past tense: collaborated; past participle: collaborated; gerund or present participle: collaborating
  1. work jointly on an activity, esp. to produce or create something.
"he collaborated with a distinguished painter on the designs"
synonyms:        co-operate, join forces, team up, band together, work together, participate, combine, ally; pool resources, put —— heads together
"they collaborated on the project"
  1. cooperate traitorously with an enemy.
"the indigenous elite who collaborated with the colonizers"
synonyms:        collude, conspire, fraternize, co-operate, consort, sympathize; informal, be in cahoots
"they collaborated with the enemy"

  1. We work together to produce/create something. As realtors this includes our own team and our own company primarily; then others from other companies and from ancillary services. This serves all as a resource for our talents, skills and specialties. Everyone brings something unique to the table regardless of their company. We then exchange ideas to improve our effectiveness within our specialty.
  2. As competitive as we all are (or not) collaboration may be interpreted as a negative aspect of business. There are no secrets folks, just ideas that will impact each other. There are no accidents only incidents.

My perspective on a Creating Collaborative Partnerships:

  • Have a flexible mind. Please read http://zenhabits.net/flex/
  • Have an "all in" passion
  • Believe in your partners and your purpose
  • Respect difference…celebrate love
  • Be present/be in the moment
  • Be willing to share/contribute…unconditionally
  • Be aware OR beware
  • Possibilities are endless
  • Use language mindfully

My perspective on driving revenue:

  • Educate/advocate/represent consumers/clients
  • Create a complete moving experience through extraordinary service
  • Communicate…consistently, promptly
  • Develop/maintain relationships with your sphere of influence
  • Track everything - income, expenses, transactions, leads, referrals…
  • Be responsive to the needs of others
  • Understand your strengths and utilize them
  • Have confidence and competence
  • Focus to fill the pipeline
  • Be efficiently effective with time, energy

Does this make sense?

Life is a sensory journey, a journey shared, a journey alone

Alone/alone…alone/together…together/together
We experience and are aware of all that surrounds us
We become one with each other and evolve

The senses, sight, smell, taste, sound and touch, obvious to all are the beginning of the awareness necessary to relate, communicate, connect.
Expand your sense and realize the emotional impact.

SENSUAL
SENSITIVE
SENSATIONAL

Emotions, feelings…truth…the authentic, unconditional you
The sensual presence…seductive, provocative, attractive
The sensitive self…human, vulnerable, fearless
The sensational you…effusive, compelling, magnetic

All a path to acceptance of others, the world…life

Does this make sense? How is your sense common? It's not, it's shared. It’s an ever-present, ever-changing sense that is uniquely you.
A force of life,  sensitive, sensual and sensational.

The Harshness of Life

we are all born unique, we all experience the harshness of life...
things come and go
people are the carriers of the attitude that fuels the fire of the ego
a lonely world for the introvert and extrovert alike
an extreme dichotomy in perspective
a separate world for objective and subjective
the unconscious subdued
do you feel like running away?
is there too much drama? misunderstanding? judgment? expectations? attachment?
is there too little peace? acceptance? respect? letting go? love? communication?

we are all human, we all experience vulnerability...
we are not perfect
to understand humanity, its dynamics, the purpose
is to love unconditionally, accept all for their humanness
embrace difference

people...food...passion

The Art of Cooking and preparing meals is my innovation,  it involves strategy/preparing, execution/skill and love/passion. It is a time that my authentic self is captured in a process that yields something to be taken internally and therefore becomes a part of the recipient. A delicious sensory experience shared by all who are invited to sit at the table. The highest form of sharing my love, an ingested sentiment, and often taken for granted talent as just another meal providing nourishment...or just an invite to celebrate...A NOW experience.
The opportunity to dine with others, share a meal, submerge in culinary art is a privilege. Awareness of the passion for creating, serving and sharing with others is weaved into the fabric of life. A recipe is created, food is carefully crafted into that sensory experience and people are gathered to enjoy.

Take this journey with me wherever it leads...
